Lake Mburo is named after a local legend of two brothers, Kigarama and Mburo. When floods filled the valley, it formed the lake that drowned Mburo. The area was gazetted in 1933 and became a national park in 1983, now famous for zebras, impalas, and rich birdlife.

 Day 1: Kampala – Equator – Igongo – Lake Mburo
  • Early morning pickup from Kampala or Entebbe
  • Visit the Uganda Equator for photos and the water experiment
  • Scenic drive through Masaka and Mbarara
  • Visit Igongo Cultural Centre and enjoy lunch
  • Continue to Lake Mburo National Park
  • Evening game drive to see zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, warthogs, and other wildlife
  • Enjoy sunset views inside the park
  • Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp
Day 2: Lake Mburo Safari – Boat Cruise – Kampala
  • Breakfast at the lodge

  • Morning game drive for the best wildlife viewing
  • Return to the lodge and relax
  • Boat safari on Lake Mburo to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and waterbirds
  • Lunch at the lodge
  • Begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe
