Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s most diverse and scenic wildlife destinations, located in the western part of the country between Lake George and Lake Edward. The park is famous for its rich wildlife, open savannah plains, forested gorges, crater lakes, and the wildlife-rich Kazinga Channel. This safari itinerary is designed to offer a complete experience by combining wildlife viewing, boat safaris, primate tracking, nature walks, and cultural encounters.
You will be picked up from Kampala, Entebbe, or Fort Portal and begin your scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you will enjoy beautiful views of Uganda’s countryside, tea plantations, and crater lakes, with stops for refreshments, photos, and lunch.
On arrival, you will check in at your lodge inside or near the park. You will spend the evening relaxing in a peaceful natural setting, followed by dinner and overnight stay.
You will start the day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where you may spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, Uganda kob, warthogs, and many bird species.
After breakfast and relaxation at the lodge, you will enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Here you will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants along the shores, and large concentrations of water birds up close.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge with Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will walk through the forest and also spot other primates and bird species.
After lunch, you will enjoy a guided nature walk to explore plants, birds, and smaller wildlife.
Later, you will visit nearby fishing communities and Lake Katwe, where you will learn about traditional fishing and salt mining.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast and check-out, you will travel through the Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. You will then continue your journey back to Kampala, Entebbe, or proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park if extending your safari.
