Day 1: Kampala – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls

Your safari begins with an early departure from Kampala. Enjoy breakfast at approximately 5:30 AM before continuing towards Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Upon arrival, prepare for a guided rhino tracking experience. Walk through the sanctuary with an experienced ranger while learning about rhino conservation and observing the rhinos in their natural environment.

After the rhino experience, continue towards Murchison Falls National Park. Depending on arrival time, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile River is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging downstream.

Enjoy the spectacular views and take photographs before proceeding to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Murchison Falls Game Drive – Nile Boat Cruise – Budongo Chimpanzee Trekking

Wake up early for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. Explore the park while wildlife is most active during the cooler morning hours.

Look out for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs and, with luck, lions and other wildlife.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and prepare for the next activity.

At 11:00 AM, enjoy a Nile boat cruise towards the base of Murchison Falls. Watch for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous water birds along the riverbanks.

After the boat cruise, have lunch before continuing to Budongo Forest.

In the afternoon, enjoy chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest. Accompanied by an experienced forest guide, walk through the forest in search of habituated chimpanzees while discovering the forest's rich biodiversity.

After the chimpanzee trekking experience, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Budongo – Uganda Equator – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out and begin the scenic journey from Budongo towards Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Travel through the beautiful countryside, enjoying views of local communities, farms, plantations and Western Uganda's changing landscapes.

On the way, stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs and a short experience at this famous geographical landmark. You may also explore the local craft shops and purchase souvenirs.

Continue the journey towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving later in the day.

Check in at your lodge and enjoy the rest of the afternoon relaxing and taking in the surrounding scenery.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth – Game Drive – Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise – Crater Lakes

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Explore the park's diverse landscapes while looking for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, antelopes and other wildlife. With luck, you may also spot lions and other predators.

Return for lunch and prepare for an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise.

The boat cruise offers excellent opportunities to see large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and many species of water birds along the channel.

Later, explore the scenic Queen Elizabeth crater lakes region. Visit selected crater lakes and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills, volcanic landscapes and local communities.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Igongo Cultural Centre – Equator – Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, check out from the lodge and begin your journey towards Kampala or Entebbe.

On the way, stop at Igongo Cultural Centre for an introduction to the history and culture of Western Uganda. Learn about the traditions and lifestyle of the Ankole people, explore the cultural displays and enjoy the local atmosphere.

Continue towards the Uganda Equator for another opportunity to take photographs, visit the craft shops and experience this famous landmark.

After the Equator stop, continue to Kampala or Entebbe, depending on your preferred drop-off location.

Your 5-Day Western Uganda Safari and Culture ends with a transfer to your final destination.
