3-Day Murchison Falls Safari -Midrange

Experience the  Uganda’s wildlife and the power of the Nile on this 3-day safari from Masindi to Murchison Falls National Park. Travel with a professional guide who will bring the stories of the savannah and its inhabitants to life.


Day 1: Masindi – Top of the Falls 

06:00 am: We depart Masindi, heading toward Murchison Falls National Park through Kichumbanyobo Gate. On the way, your guide will give you a brief orientation about the park, its wildlife, and safety tips.

08:30 am: Our first stop is the Top of Murchison Falls, where the  Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gorge, creating a spectacular and thunderous waterfall. Take your time for photos and learn about the geology and wildlife of this unique spot.

10:00 am:  continue with a game drive end route to the lodge. Watch the savannah come alive with giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, warthogs, and a variety of colorful birds.

12:30 pm: Arrive at your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. The afternoon is yours to unwind, enjoy optional lodge activities, or simply soak in the views.

Dinner & Overnight: Mid-range lodge inside or near the park.


Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise

06:00 am: Today begins with a morning game drive. Your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, hyenas, leopards (rare), giraffes, oribis, and many bird species. The early morning is the perfect time to see predators and observe wildlife behavior.

10:00 am: Return to the lodge for breakfast and some leisure time.

02:00 pm: In the afternoon, we take a boat cruise on the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the river, look out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and an array of waterbirds. Your guide will provide commentary on the animals, the river ecosystem, and local conservation efforts.

05:00 pm: Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Short Game Drive or Nile Delta Cruise – Return to Masindi

07:00 am: After breakfast, choose between a short game drive for final wildlife sightings or an optional Nile Delta cruise (extra cost) to enjoy the birdlife and peaceful river scenery.

10:00 am: Begin our drive back to Masindi, reflecting on the amazing wildlife and landscapes we’ve seen.

01:00 pm: Arrival in Masindi marks the end of your safari.

    Safety Guidelines 
1. Listen to Your Guide
  • Always follow your guide’s instructions during game drives, boat cruises, and lodge activities.

  • Do not leave the vehicle unless directed. Wild animals can be unpredictable.

  • Keep a safe distance from all wildlife at all times.

2. Safety During Game Drives
  • Remain seated and keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle.

  • Speak softly and avoid sudden movements to prevent disturbing the animals.

  • Wear neutral or earth-toned clothing to blend in with the environment.

3. Safety on Boat Cruises
  • Always wear the life jacket provided.

  • Stay seated while the boat is moving and avoid leaning over the sides.

  • Secure cameras and personal items to prevent accidental loss into the Nile.

4. Personal Health & Comfort
  • Stay hydrated by drinking enough water throughout the day.

  • Apply insect repellent to protect against mosquitoes.

  • Wear sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable clothing for sun protection.

  • Inform your guide of any medical conditions or allergies in advance.

5. Wildlife Etiquette
  • Never feed, touch, or provoke wild animals.

  • Avoid loud noises or sudden gestures that could disturb wildlife.

  • Respect other visitors by keeping noise levels low.

6. Road & Vehicle Safety
  • Fasten seatbelts where available.

  • Drive carefully on dirt roads, especially after rain.

  • Remain seated while the vehicle is in motion.

7. Emergency Preparedness
  • Safari vehicles carry first aid kits and communication devices.

  • Guides are trained in first aid and emergency procedures.

  • Immediately report any health issues or safety concerns to your  guide
