Experience the thrill of spotting the rare Shoebill in Uganda’s Mabamba Wetlands. Glide silently through papyrus swamps by canoe, guided by local experts, and catch glimpses of other wetland birds and wildlife in their natural habitat.
Itinerary:
5:00 AM: Pick up from Kampala or Entebbe. Drive (~2–3 hours) through scenic countryside to Mabamba Wetlands.
8:00 AM: Arrive at Mabamba Wetlands. Meet your local guide and prepare for canoe tracking.
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Canoe ride through the swamps to spot the Shoebill and other birds like kingfishers, herons, and jacanas. Ideal for photography enthusiasts.
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Short break at observation deck. Light refreshments optional.
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Additional tracking or guided nature walk along the wetland edges.
