From 60$

Kyambura Gorge, often called the “Valley of Apes,” is a stunning rainforest canyon tucked inside the vast savannah of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Its deep, green forest contrasts beautifully with the open plains, creating one of Uganda’s most dramatic landscapes.

This remarkable gorge is best known for its wild chimpanzee community, making it an excellent destination for chimp tracking. As you descend into the cool, mist-filled forest, you’ll encounter birds, monkeys, butterflies, and the peaceful flow of the Kyambura River. The trek offers a rare chance to watch chimpanzees in their natural environment as they feed, play, and interact.

Kyambura is also home to red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, hippos, giant forest hogs, and many forest bird species an oasis of life surrounded by savannah.
