Bahá’í Temple Visit in Kampala Uganda Africa

Visit the Bahá’í Temple in Kampala, also known as the Mother Temple of Africa, located on Kikaaya Hill along Gayaza Road. Opened in 1961, it was the first Bahá’í House of Worship built in Africa.

Entry & Requirements

Entry is free. Visitors must bring a valid National ID or passport for registration at the main gate. Large groups are advised to notify the temple administration in advance so that site guides can be prepared to receive them.

Visitor Guidelines

  • No Photography Inside: Photography and video recording are not allowed inside the temple. Photos are allowed in the gardens outside.
  • Dress Code: Visitors are requested to dress modestly and respectfully.
  • Accessibility: There is a short, steep walk from the lower parking area to the temple. Visitors with mobility challenges can request drop-off at the upper entrance.
